Humidors
All my humidors are personalised specifically for the recipient. Although the concept of a humidor is a container to hold cigars, with a brass humidor to maintain the moisture level for cigars, in fact half of my boxes are commissioned by clients who want to present or own a personalised box which can be used to contain letters, jewellery, collectors items etc.
You will see that many are made using "oysters" from trees such as laburnum, olive wood, walnut and yew branches. By sawing many thin slices from the end of the branch a series of inlay discs can be made into a stunning pattern. This technique has virtually died out in English cabinet making, but for the past 35 years we have revived the art.
